Register Online for Fall Ball 2009
by posted 05/31/2009

Registration for the Fall Ball season are now open and available on the HLL Web Site. (http://www.haddonfieldbaseball.org) To register, please select the "Register Online" link on the left side of the home page. Deadline is July 15th, 2009

Presidents’ Multi-Town Interleague
Haddonfield will again be teaming up with Cherry Hill American, Merchantville, and Magnolia to organize and sponsor the Major/Minor league fall season. Last year’s season for the Multi-Town partnership was tremendously successful with over 125 players and 10 teams representing Haddonfield. Expectations are for an even larger turnout this year. Spaces may be limited so early registration is recommended.

Minors and Majors
Current 8-9 year olds from the White and Red spring divisions will play in the Minors while current 10-11 year olds who played in the Black and Majors divisions will be assigned to Majors teams. In addition to playing each other they will also play teams from Cherry Hill, Merchantville, and Haddon Heights. Games will be hosted in Haddonfield as well as the other town venues. Once the season begins teams do not practice and only play games primarily on weekends. Multi-sport players are encouraged to participate and the League is designed in a format that permits soccer, football, hockey and other sports players a opportunity to play regardless of conflicts.

**New for 2009**  Machine pitch Division for current Spring T-shirt 7 year olds that will be moving up to the Haddonfield White Division next spring.

GVAA Babe Ruth League

Haddonfield has been invited back to join the GVAA League in Evesham for Babe Ruth players. The 13 year old only division provides transitioning Little League players a head start in graduating to the large diamond. This year Haddonfield will also enroll teams in the 14-15 year old division. Games are played under the lights at GVAA on Kresson Rd. and at Eastern High School’s Astroturf facility as well as other participating town venues.
Similar to the fall Little League format, once the season begins teams will not practice but instead play 2-3 games per week and is geared to encourage multi-sport players (soccer, hockey, etc) the ability to participate without having to dedicate to only one sport.

FAQ

Q: Which division does my child belong in?

A: The programs are designed with training and development goals in mind. Minors are limited to players that are being introduced to live pitching for the 1st time and players that have just completed the Red division experience. Majors are for returning players and those that will be moving up from the Black Minors next spring.
**Machine Pitch** is new for 2009 and includes players ages 7-8 that will be graduating from T-shirts 7 year olds and playing in the White Division next spring.

Q: How competitive are the Leagues?

A: All Leagues are participation oriented, very similar to the spring program and not meant for elite teams. There are no tryouts and teams are selected with parity as the goal.

Q: How far do teams travel?

A: Tri-Town Little League is promoted and operated by the surrounding towns. All venues are within 15 minutes of Haddonfield. Babe Ruth is limited to teams in the area surrounding Gibbsboro-Voorhees.

Q: What about conflicts with other sports / activities?

A:  While it’s great to have the complete squad available, fall ball realizes that the other seasonal sports take priority and makes arrangements accordingly. No practices and fall rosters that are larger than normal address this issue. Players with conflicts are allocated proportionately to each team.  Additionally, teams are able to select from a pool of available players should they need to fill their roster for particular games.

Q: How long does the season run?
A: The season begins right after Labor Day and runs until late October including playoffs.
